Biography
Kay Morley-Brown is one of Wales’ most celebrated female sprint hurdlers. She won Commonwealth Games gold in the 100m hurdles at Auckland 1990 with a Welsh record of 12.91 seconds, becoming only the second Welsh female athlete to win a Commonwealth athletics gold medal.
Her record has stood for over three decades. She won seven consecutive Welsh 100m hurdles championship titles and three UK titles, broke the Welsh record five times during her career, and made 17 appearances for Wales (9 victories) and 12 for Great Britain.
She studied at Cardiff University from 1983 and trained under Welsh National Coach Malcolm Arnold, competing through to the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
