Biography
Julie Crane became the dominant figure in Welsh women’s high jump over a remarkable 15-year competitive career. She won eight Welsh outdoor titles between 1995 and 2010, setting a championship record of 1.82m, as well as three Welsh indoor titles.
Her indoor personal best of 1.90m, set in 2004, remains the Welsh record. She achieved British No. 1 status both indoors and outdoors in 2005.
The highlight of her career came at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games, where she won silver for Wales clearing 1.88m. She represented Wales at the 1998, 2002, and 2006 Commonwealth Games.
