Biography
Hayley Tullett (nee Parry) was a Welsh middle-distance runner whose international career spanned nearly two decades. She progressed from junior competition in 1987 to become one of Britain’s finest 1500m runners.
Her greatest moments came in quick succession: silver behind future Olympic champion Kelly Holmes at the 2002 European Championships in Munich, then bronze at the 2003 World Championships in Paris in a Welsh record of 3:59.95. She also won bronze at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and competed at the Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 Olympics.
Tullett was Welsh number one at 1500m and 800m for extended periods and was admired for her consistency, sportsmanship, and longevity at the elite level.
