Biography
Colin Jackson is one of the greatest hurdlers in athletics history. His 1993 World Championship victory in Stuttgart came with a world record of 12.91 seconds, earning him IAAF Athlete of the Year. He regained the title in 1999, becoming the first athlete ever to reclaim a World Championship title in the event.
Jackson competed in four Olympic Games, winning silver at Seoul 1988 and reaching the final at three further Games. He accumulated 22 major championship medals, including 12 gold, and maintained a top-ten world ranking every year from 1986, with 13 sub-13.20 runs and a 44-race winning streak all in 1993.
He received an MBE for his services to athletics and later became one of the UK’s most recognised athletics broadcasters.
